The Ohio State University’s research and creative expression community is committed to defining and addressing the world’s most pressing challenges though the creation and dissemination of new knowledge. The Office of Research supports, advances and safeguards these research, scholarly and creative pursuits conducted by our faculty, staff and students. We also provide strategic direction and a unified voice for Ohio State’s research interests locally, nationally and internationally.




    Resource Collection


    • Resources for Finding Funding ( Support service )

      The Office of the Vice President for Research provides resources and education to the Ohio State research community for the identification of extramural funding opportunities.

      One of the most comprehensive funding search tools is InfoEd Global SPIN which is available to all faculty, staff, and students. SPIN provides a comprehensive and up-to-date database of grants, fellowships, awards, and other funding opportunities from public, private, domestic, and international sources in every discipline. Users may create daily e-mail alerts (SMARTS) based on key words, i.e., areas of interest, academic disciplines.

    • The Ohio State Research Resource Survey ( Support service )

      A survey to collect information on research resources at The Ohio State University including equipment, services, databases, and software. Data collected is input into the Eagle-i database and the Ohio Innovation Exchange.
